Post PnueCocker version 2 A build thread

Ok guys,

This will be build thread as I work through my 2nd version of a Pneumatic cocker frame using Centerflag’s Uprising Frame.

My First Pneucocker 1 was based on Trilogy SF frame which easily lent itself to modification since it incorporated a pneumatic mini ram in the grip. The MSV2 replaced the solenoid which fired the ram which tripped both the sear and the 3-way at the same time.

As you can see the Uprising frame uses a similar concept but the linkages are slightly different. It uses a vertically mounted pancake solenoid to trip the sear/3-way linkage.

This frame was mounted on a halfblock BM cocker that I got here. It came with the 13bps board but I’ve never played with it (I still have the guts if anyone is interested).
With a bit of elbow grease the linkages look brand new. Here’s a layout of what I plan to do. The MPA3 will replace the solenoid which will be controlled by the MSV2. The frame will require some milling to get the parts in and hopefully I can get the timing right.
Stay tuned, I’ll update the thread here and on CC as I progress.

A little bit of progress this weekend.

The space allocated for the MPA3 will be tight so if I used a 90 barb at the tail end of the ram it will extend it out even longer. So to keep it compact I decided to run a straight barb off the side of the ram.

Drill and side tap the Ram.
With a No. 35 bit I drilled a hole on the body close to the base making sure I dont break through to the piston stop.
Tap and thread with 6-40. Then plug the original inlet hole with a 10-32 set screw & seal with JB weld.

To ensure that air will be getting the face of the piston I slotted a small hole at the bottom of the body.
Thats all I had time for this weekend. Next Ill need to hog out the frame to fit the Ram and switch.

Looking great so far!

Is there any particular reason why you're going with the Uprising frame this time?

Any problems with the SF or did you just want to do it?

The SF frame is the ideal frame for the conversion. A step-by-step write up is on the way when I have some time.

I'm not a fan of electros and this Uprising frame was just collecting dust on my bench so I thought this would be a worthy project to consider. I'm curious how it'll compare to the SF frame.

Good to know as I'm seriously thinking about building something up in spring. =)

Any chance there will be enough space to sleeper this thing?

A LPR inside eh? Hmm...
That wasn't my original plan but I do have a really small one laying around. I'll be tight but can be done.

I might consider it but sacrificing my drop forward would make the setup feel terribly awkward for me.

I'd just run it from the normal lpr pressure, no one is going to notice a hole going into your frame as long as you run it like in the front or something.

and speaking of the trilly one. What size barb did you end up using? I ended up stealing a barb off my smav-3 and tapping the ram for that thread. I didnt think I could drill that ram out to 10-32 without hitting any of the other air passages in it.
