| MCB Member | For all you K-frame, western, and sidearm aficionados... I've been juggling this idea around for a little while, and finally started throwing it down on paper today. A few hours and an email to Dan S. later, I came up with this: The picture should be pretty-self explanitory. Basicly this will get rid of the pump, turn it into a one-handed operation, and make the PGP into a 3357 that shoots .68 and is actually somthing to contend with on the field! Since I took the above picture, I've also come up with an idea for a self-concealed spring-powered return mechanism. Another thing is that in real life, the pseudo thumb-hammer-lever will sit a little farther foreward. What do you all think in general? Got any comments on a spring-return? (I know some of you are more traditional and dont like spring-return) Questions? Comments? Good? Bad? Wanna make a down-payment? The pgp that will be my test subject will also get the side-feed tube modification, as well as iron sights (I found a good source). In a perfect world, it will also have a slighlty overall extended barrel and feed-tube (and an extended co2 knob). FYI, Dan won't be making this for me, but I need to modify the RVA. Only thing is I don't want to modify my RVA, so I'm going to try to see if he will sell me another one. Everything else will be my own work. I'm particularly giddy about this idea - not only because it is so simple, but because it is going to be just so darn cool!! Also, keep in mind that this is pretty much a first draft. I think I already drew mabe 15 different thumb levers; and the one I decide on will probably just come out of me experimenting in real life, as apposed to somthing from paper. After all, its design is going to depend on how it feels in real-life, not how it looks like on paper. cheers; III

| MCB Member | Thats another question I had... If I actually get this all sorted out to the point where I can have a "kit" of sorts available, how many of you might roughly be interested? Also, any suggestions for certain materials? I've already decided that everything is going to be aluminum except mabe the lever. I want that to be 1/4" or 3/8th" steel - to match the trigger. III

Also, One of the things that I am going to solve during the building process (and not the drawing process) is these two things: 1; the distance between the lever pivot and the thumb groove on the lever, and 2; the distance between the lever pivot and the connecting hinge. The position of those two things will be a big player in how the pull feels. If I put everything to low, the pull with be easy but too long. If I put everything up high, the pull will be short but too hard. So I just have to experiment with different levers until I find the right balance between the two. The last thing I have to say is surface area. Even if it does end up being a little on the tough side, I'm planning on a finger-surface about 3/8" wide. The more of your thumb that you can use, the less harsh it will be. Keep the ideas coming! III

| Post Whore Join Date: May 2006 Location: Valrico, Florida | Looks good to me! I'd buy another PGP, if you'd make this a kit. Just a thought for the hammer--you could make it a little more economically if you used something a tad thinner, but perhaps put something like a trigger shoe on it. Probably not strictly--it would look funky--but close. And it would be easier to make a couple styles. Just curious, did you want to share that supplier (or any you know of) for the ironsights? I want to put some on my rifle project. </ot>

| MCB Member | Just remember everyone, one of the great things about this project is that you'll now be able play with TWO PGP's at the SAME TIME I know, you probably hate me now... III
