It's nice to have access to the equipment - I'm missing the printers at university... stuff costs an arm and a leg here in the real world.

That's alot of FS rounds! at 30bps, that's $12/sec, or about the cost of a good lap dance.

Stupid Question: Have you checked with QLoader to see if they are OK with you making and selling aftermarket parts? I'm 99.9% sure the Q system is patent protected and it would suck if you ran into any issues after sinking time and money into this project. They might even be working something similar themselves.

I'm not sure why I would ever need 80+ FS on my marker...other than WHY NOT!

Well... Unless they have a patent specifically for FS rounds, I have novelty.

And having novelty, posting information on a public forum constitutes prior public knowledge. I have X amount of time to patent myself, or it's public domain.

I would be happy to work with them. Mostly, I'm doing this so that I can carry a loadout of FS rounds for shooting people with from close range, like I normally do.

A patent being an exclusionary right does not, however, necessarily give the owner of the patent the right to exploit the patent. For example, many inventions are improvements of prior inventions that may still be covered by someone else's patent.[13] If an inventor takes an existing, patented mouse trap design, adds a new feature to make an improved mouse trap, and obtains a patent on the improvement, he or she can only legally build his or her improved mouse trap with permission from the patent holder of the original mouse trap, assuming the original patent is still in force. But I'm taking a previously patented device, modifying it, and then using it for something different.

It's not just a minor improvement.


Additionally, I'm not selling a device at all. I'm selling a part for a conversion.

Another piece of food for thought-

I built a tippmann X7 fs round adapter, however the bolt, being slightly larger than the round, "pinched" the fin of the round on deck, thus chopping it and causing your gun to jam at the same time. I fixed this by creating a beveled edge bolt...like I said, food for thought.
