Whew, I'm not nuts. These are ranger internals.

Maybe a good starting point would be to toss some pics / specs of various internals configurations and their performance? I don't think the ranger is groundbreaking in any way though. Also, both of these guns need some serious tuning and I don't use either regularly if at all.

Just a side note on the trracer internals. I remember having a couple leaky ones and looking for the seals. Because of the unique design there weren't any 3rd party ones and no sources for replacements at that time. One benefit to using a flat seal is the fact that if nothing else you can come up with a seal for it.

Outside of just tuning w/ improving what's been done before, I think both Ty's and HaveBlue's ideas are pretty groundbreaking and have a lot of possibility.

Well if Bacci is right and you bought that used than someone who owned it before you felt that it was a better seal than the factory Ranger one. Or they had a problem and thats all they had at the time to fix it.

The person I purchased my Ranger from claimed that he was the original owner, and that the gun was 100% stock.

AKA Fan
If you guys were interested in trying an AKA cup seal, it would be pretty easy. Drill and tap the AKA seal for new threads, or a helicoil.

Green, you mentioned earlier about wrapping a hammer in delrin... That would be a good way to quiet the mechanism quite a bit.

Yeah, I don't know either. I've owned half a dozen of them and all have had the short little power tube. As far as I'm aware all the Rangers did. Quite honestly though, even if those aren't the stock internals they look quite a bit better.

Just to contribute something, I was initially thinking about a "football" shaped cup / seal. Could potentially be all one piece. I started a crappy drawing of the seal then decided maybe just an angle and a standard cup might be a good start. Oddly what I ended up with looks almost exactly like Splattttttt's internals.

Now those ports on them don't look like the common ones we normally see round here
You should probably help, and share a few details so that we know what you have there buddy.
