THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

As I suggested before, if you can increase the travel of the power tube you can expose more of the ports. That could be a problem though because your hammer would need to sit further forward using the standard location of the face of the valve nut.

Wont there be more impact force on the PT leading to breaking of the PT ?

The oversized phantom valve train

Yoda- The vale seat was machined with a 1/2 ball mill so that's what the seat face was turned to match. I'll try to get some pics. I'm also toying with the idea to lose the one piece AF delrin cone shaped valve seat. Instead using a delrin half round seat like tracer uses and making a brass cone shaped nut to hold the seat to the PT. This gives the aerodynamic shape, the strength needed (via the brass nut) and a standard source of replacement seats.

Yoda- Porting will be at an angle pointing down the tube as much as possible. I need to set up a rotary table at an angle on the mill to pull it off. I still need to do the math before I start porting. Making the tube took a bit of time and I don't want to have to make another because I screwed it up.

As far as testing w/ a reg... I'm going to start with my stock setup running on my 13cuin tank to get a baseline of shots per tank and FPS swings. I then put the back bottle adapter on with the new valve train. I'll swap the springs to obtain 285FPS (if possible) and run the 13cuin tank un regulated dry. I'll compare shots per tank and fps variance. The third test I regulate it to fine the sweet spot. I have a Palmer stab and a fatty I can use. This is the part if testing I loathe. Finding a valves sweet spot can be such a pain. If this proves promising I might look into having e-machineshop.com make a run of un-ported PT blanks. From there MCB-ers can experiment and post their findings.

REDNA, if my suspensions are correct, I think that with out a spring putting pressure on the cup seal, may reduce fatigue, and snapping of the PT.

Please keep track of input readings as well?

And I have all the confidence in the world that this project will prove positive.
Once we discover how to operate a Nelson at LP, no one will ever want to deal with a top tube ever again. lol

REDNA and splattttttt... it's actually all dependent on the force at which the PT/cupseal slams shut on the valve nut. Repeated slamming is going to cause fatigue no matter where the spring is.

Has any one mentioned putting an oring on the tip of the power tube if possible?

ok so impact of the hammer is not the issue it is the slamming shut of the valve.

thanks E.

sorry, I modeled a trraser valve last night so I could check the flow today but our package doesn't appear to have flow dynamics like I thought it did. I am amaized at how little of the port actually extends past the end of the valve seat. Must cut 70% of the potential flow.

Thanks for trying.

Anyone else give it a try yet? With any of the setups?
