Yeah, with the right setup, and regged lp phantom with a 13ci tanks would be great. I wonder how many shots we could get out of one. 150?

Lurker was the hat eater

I have the newmatic internals as well as drawings to make one of my style valve bodies and cupseals to fit his ginormous powertube. As well as a completely different valve system that will work with the bored out hammer and bolt that are from his set. But that one will get shown off after I have one working Just waiting on shop time, I've been held up with a larger variety of projects to supplement some lost income due to going on cripple time at work for the second time.

Cocking issues, my initial guess would be a lighter sear spring. Irrelevant to the firing cycle and lets you use whatever pressure the valve is happy running at.

I finally did some proof of concept testing this weekend, the new springs I have work well, as does using the same washers that I originally used to retain the o-ring on the valve nut as a spring spacer. Just need to hit Staples and snag some bulk packaging and those will be going out.

Hah, you know what...I didn't even consider the sear spring. I was sitting here for a good 10 seconds thinking you had lost your marbles.

You're right in that smoothing the bolt/sear engagement out would lessen the force on the valve, and would definitely make the action nicer. My only concern would be reliability over time. Mike has designed his stuff for a compromise of performance and reliability, and I wonder how much the sear spring has to do with positive engagement, or at least to what degree we could weaken it without opening ourselves up to problems.

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

yep, I saw that video. I still haven't seen it tested with 12 grams, though! I remember you had issues with that CP on co2 as well. I'm glad to hear that things are still going forward.

y0da, did you ever figure out what the sweetspot for your valves was?

I think you need dibs on testing that valve. I know you will do a better job at sweetspotting than me.
EDIT: I was using hpa in that video.

Not as far as peak efficiency is concerned, but I've run it reliably from around 400psi to 800 just varying the main spring compression with the adjuster nut in the bolt. 400 is a pretty rough number on the low end though because I didn't have a gauge on it at the time, but that's about what the reg was set at on another gun and I didn't mess with it when I hopped it over. With the new spring I was shooting around 275 with unregulated CO2 and the main spring as light as it could be adjusted. Honestly not sure how the springs in a junkbox parts Diablo compare to better built guns though.

Cheers, but I trust y0da with it, because I know he has the ability to actually move things forward as far as manufacturing and testing new models!

That said...somebody get him a damn Phantom already!

What I have in the ability to make and test things I lose with a lack of experience in fine tuning Nelsons. I'll give it a rough test, but I would rather send it out to someone with more experience in the tuning department for a once over and some attention.

I may take you up on that GMP, I'll let you know when I plan on having some shop time so I don't end up hanging on to it forever. Hopefully soon.
