the one i had before wont work. too big, by a friggen CH

EDIT: here is the motor cutsheet

yeah skibbo this is the motor i have selected. its a strong enough motor and it fits inside the raceway with a little extra room for wiring. this will tie into the paddles. make it nice and sexy.

thanks. I had a feeling you had already found one, but i was kinda being lazy. lol. so will the paddles be gear driven (rotor) or belt driven (halos), or do we have to wait and see? I personally like gear driven, just simpler to take apart, since you don't have to relieve any belt tension or anything.

well first things first i need paddles to design the mount to the motor. but it will most likely be direct prop shaft to alleviate issues.

Oh by the way, I changed the thread title, so don't think that you have a random post in an old thread that you were sub'd to.

problem with gear driven is that it has no give.. if its in the position to crush a ball, or strip a gear, it will.. a belt drive will allow the motor to spin without moving the impeller if the impeller locks up and the motor wants to keep turning

droop i might have a spare cyclone impeller floating around in spare parts. if i find it, it yours

agreed on the ball crush point, however we are working (yoda900 and myself) on either a clutch system to stop the motor in a jam situation, or even better maybe the squishy paddles would resist crushing a ball.

Also thanks tracker! let me know

got some more work done on the hopper. had to redesign the tray. due to the new raceway. but i got the paddle slot cut into the tube.
However i ran into some crappy news. the motor i selected is not stocked anywhere and to order it from the Mfr. it would be a 10,000 unit minimum order.. so back on the search.

Well, at least you are set to go for when you get into production
