for the second attachment point, why not make a barrel band, just like a Winchester? If you really want to get creative, you can attach a saddle ring to the side.

I've looked into them, with a couple posters here. The problem isn't the price per foot, it's the $450 minimum order, plus cutting charge, plus the freight shipping.

And as for the attachment points, I had a point soldered on near the back of the dropout slot that seemed to work really well, but it came undone when I attached the barrel. Should have thought of that.

I'll probably replace that one, and tap a hole in the attachment point for the lever changer, and use that to hold the changer in and the body on.

I've already started on filling that gaping hole in the stock. most of it is getting filled with a great big aluminum block, which will be mostly hollowed out and used for the lever pivot.

And, finally, thanks, KT. I thought it was a good idea, myself. It will have a cover handmade to fit, and needs a couple little washers. The detents stick in a little too far, and are getting pinched.

Oh, plus, my original rail design was to have it go all the way to the back of the body, and have radiused ends on that side cut. But the torsion arm on my mill is wearing, and it decided it wanted the back half inch to be three times as deep as I wanted it, which would interfere with other stuff. I didn't have any more material, so I took lemons...

You guys are making me hungry for my own shop and torch again.
I can smell a project coming on.......

As this will be my first attempt at this kind of project any pictures or help with the trigger group and lever changer would be appreciated. Also since I don't have access to a acetylene torch for the silver solder would MAP gas or something else work?

If I get one to copy, I'll share CAD files or screenshots of such.

I'm using MAPP gas, myself. It's enough to melt small bits of brass, so I wouldn't much trust an acetylene torch to it.

I had that happen except I was milling the top of a Benchmark mag frame to mate with a sheridan....My problem though was that I forgot to lock the Z axis. So when the bit plunged it not only destroyed the top of the frame but snapped the 3/4" 2 flute that I had just re-sharpend
