| Post Whore Join Date: May 2006 Location: Valrico, Florida | My lever-action (currently WIP) So, just bored and happy that I got my PPS order in. Now it only needs a stock! And a bolt, and trigger group, some machining, file work... From top to bottom, barrel (16.5" total, 12" actuall barrel), lower tube from a 5mm Blue Streak (with original front and back caps, hammer and spring), feed tube (recieved 3/4" ID, 7/8" OD instead of 13/16" OD. May correct, may not), feed spring and lever from a Remington 30-30, IIRC. Lining up a second loose Sheridan barrel to test it, I won't be able to lay it right against the lower tube. THe bottom tube would interrupt the balls transferring between tubes. I'll probably make a couple flat braces to connect the feed and lower tube. Anyway, now I need a stock. I'm thinking walnut. Not that it matters much to me, because someone here or on eBay will probably be willing to pay enough to pry this from me.

I dare say a tad deep, but it's fine. I thought about leaving it it's full two feet for that 'long rifle' look, but it will probably be running on twelvies, and I'd get like four shots out of it.

| Post Whore Join Date: May 2006 Location: Valrico, Florida | More parts! Left to right, 12-gram adapter (CCI pierce pin), devolumizer (the valve chamber is stupid long and stepped diameter), spring, valve pin, valve, and retaining nut from Palmers, and the custom bolt. Stock and butt plate from a Ruger Mini 14 .223 rifle. Modified, of course. The bolt, with a view of the inlet (angled 25 degrees forward) and the cosmetic milling. View from the front to show the step from 1/4" air channel to 3/8" to ease the air 'jet', and a hint of hair, clumsy fingers. They're not *really* as fat as they look there.

| MCB Member | Hey there buddy, looks like we're almost aiming for the same thing here. I'll race ya Although we're sort of starting at different points here. I've still got to get a lever. I'm fabbing up the trigger group from scratch along with the rest of the cocking mechanism. Also have to strip the old body, solder on a brass nut, then gut the stock. THEN I have to get the dang thing to shoot. (theres a reason they call them Nightmares...). Lastly, get sent to Palmers for a bath in some nickels. III

I know how you feel. What is your lever made of? I keep thinking it might almost be worth it to just make my own. Mainly, because I want a large loop. Only problem is the standard Winchester large loops seem to be a little TOO big for the smaller KP stock.III

| Post Whore Join Date: May 2006 Location: Valrico, Florida | Mine's steel. The stock one off a Remington 30/30, IIRC. I did modify it a bit, and may or may not have to cut the loop off and move it. I'll have to see. I need to fabricate the trigger group, too. No big problem, but more time.
