I was watching Staunchy's video on his Pneu-assisted Phantom build, and this led me to the idea of building a Pneumatically cocking semi-auto Phantom. Following a similar design to the pneumatic setup on any mech cocker, do you think it can be done? Any tips on going about doing this?

It can be done, and I have an idea on how to do it, but it's not very practical. Nelson drive train wasn't made for that abuse, even though it can be done. valve likes to burp sometimes due to high cocking force, increased wear, etc. could be cool with a springfeed though |

Forget the naysayers. It ends up being really cool. To stop valve burping, and/or damage to the body, you must use a piston stop or something similar to brake the rear travel properly. Forward movement is cake. And the way the trigger works makes timing a lot easier, of course, as it won't fire without the bolt closed no matter what. doo eet, would be awesome, just dont crank up the lpr that you put on it so you can fire fast, max it out at only 3-5 bps. and alpha, i cant stop staring at your avatar, im like mesmerized by it

Heinous made one recently and it works great. He made a thread about it but I can't remember the title.

His wasn't a phantom, but it was a nelson. it was some conglomeration of 5 different guns. Don't feel like searching for the thread but I think it was called all others are just imitations or something like that |

I even thought about doing a Sleeper of sorts but I'm not sure how it would work or how it would do on the internals. And yeah, I was gonna tell him the same thing. lol.
