Custom METAL Dye i4's

I must give proper credit where credit is due, but first a tiny history on the project. I am 6'7" and I bought some i4's. i4's are just too small for my giant head! So, in the depths of my depression over my wasted purchase, Alpha swaggered into my midst and offered his help. The result is a set of custom Dye i4's made of aluminum mesh, including an original head shield, powder coated in translucent black, and they feel like they aren't even there. The mesh is THAT breathable. They are still super light, and best of all the lens enclosure is unaltered. The lens is still removable and cleanable, and he even kept the ear covers! The powder coating even gave the edges a nice smooth, rounded feel. No need for edge material at all.

This thing is perfect, and I finally have the unique, durable, SWEET LOOKING mask that I desired. Thank you Alpha!! More professional photos to come soon, this was just me with my point and shoot. (I don't know how to link to photos any better than this, sorry!)

heres some help:

glad to see how well these turned out. I saw these at alpha's house a few weeks ago and you are right, they are super breathable. I will agree you are a big guy, I believe the comment I made when I tried it on was "this guy must have the biggest face ever" lol

I don't have that wide of a head, just long lol. You can see why normal i4's were causing me lots of forehead bruises. (Not easy to explain to my boss)

On a side note, I have a mirrored Dyetanium replacement lens coming to replace the scratched HD lens and complete the look.

I cannot confirm or deny that Alpha took a break from all his other projects to create my mask purely out of the goodness of his heart and without any coercing on my part or benefit for himself.

though they're pretty dam long, it still looks pretty wicked.
Are there gonna be anything to line the edges? Personally think that it would give it a nice finished look.

There is silicone edge tape I believe. But, I'm still deciding on whether it needs it or not. I don't know how the tape would hold up over time.

How stiff is the metal, will it bend from a direct hit? I like the look of it. Are the edges sharp at all, does it need a trim piece.

With some little zip ties, you can trim it out seasonally. Zombie drool, Santa beard, etc. Where you hate to block a vent on most masks, you have mounting points to spare on that one.
