I shot an original in competition for several years with AA's and the original steel buttplate.
If you shoot it from the hip you dont feel what little recoil there is.
I got the blank on Ebay,it was about 10% oversize so shaping it was a pain.

Yeah you'd be surprised what you find on ebay. That's where i got my (really nice btw) walnut reproduction 1892 stock for my mare's leg project. I could have gone baller and gotten an original too but even I felt bad about hacking up a piece of history like that...

Any idea where to find another lever loop? I'm doing the same thing with mine but can't find parts anywhere. They haven't made the Norinco version in a few years and I don't know if the lever from the new PW87 cheaper copy will fit...
