| Mcb's finest embarrasment | Sheridan restoration project!
Hi everyone, for ss I got an old beat up sheridan df body and grip frame(you rock santa! )It has a ton of surface rust and corrosion on the body and frame. Also the insides of the frame are rusted and the lower tube is aswell. The barrel bore is in good shape. I want it to be shiny, and functional. Do I sust sand the brass and polish with brasso? What do I do about the frame? Thanks everyone!

I use Mothers to get it shiny, then use brasso to make Really shiny. Internals may need seals, contact MAD, (I think) I have a valve tool if you don't have one or want to buy one. Just show up to a MCB meet. Rust on the frame, just Sand and repaint, Polish the Sear, Sear pin etc. If you want to get fancy, get a cocker frame to sheridan adapter. |

Don't sand the body. It'll mark it. The body itself can't rust....it's brass. Use a cloth to wipe it down and then polish. The internals will buff out quickly. Same with the grip internals. If you have a dremel with a metal brush buffer all of that will clean up quick and easy. This should be a fun learning experience....but shouldn't take too long to get it where you need it.

it's that easy. removing the frame....it should just unscrew with either a phillips head screw driver or an allen screw. You didn't say if it was back bottle or not, but the back screw will either screw into a back bottle ASA or a back cap. Shouldn't be hard. If you wipe the parts down with a cloth or paper towel you should be able to get gunk off.....I suppose you could polish them up with Brasso as well.

There are two pins in the trigger frame holding everything in. You can usually just push the back one out, the front one will need a punch.
