But wouldn't the bore of the barrel be beyond the sealing abilities of the bolt's o-ring once it is able to accept the inserts? I'm measuring .70" for the o-rings o.d.

Possible bigger oring?
Looking at all the demensions is nessesary.
Draw up a file so see all the matching surface and see what can/can't be done.

The oring doesn't necessarily need to go inside the freak bore. It can always just rest up against it.

OK, I can understand that.

super_stanchy, I have yet to receive the SSC Phantom I recently purchased; but I hear that your freaked barrels have a snug fit. If the bolt's o-ring would merely rest against the outside of the insert, do you believe that o-rings in the barrel would be necessary to retain the insert? Would you mind attempting to "over freak" my apex barrel? I can send you the barrel and bolt if you'd like to do this for me. Anything you feel would be above your regular freak boring price I would be willing to pay.

I understand that the SL68 is not the most popular marker; but it would be nice to see a simpler means to boring this marker than having to make adapters and such.

I've had succcess 2 different ways on similar guns. First is to just use a normal freak back. The retaining o-rings in the back do a good job of keeping it in place.

The other is to use soft set screws. This barrel has 3 nylon set screws to hold the insert in place. Loosen them up, put right size insert in, tighten up, no sliding insert.
