small bore brass

i dont know if i can dig up before photos of this, but it started as a pretty beat up kp2 missing its feedtube. and had a cut-up pirate stock on it.

in my defense it was my first attempt at soldering metal....
the raw .678 barrel stock came from ty as well as the feed tube.
it doesnt have any internals in it atm. i got a small bit of solder where the bolt goes that i need to remove.
ty also sent a .678 piece of delring i need to turn into a bolt.
and i'd like to try and incorporate some of what russc is doing w/ letting room for expansion between the 12ie and valve.
for the transfer tube i used a .22 shell i dont remember the i.d. but the holes were enlarged to .25. oh duh its probably .22" lol
i spent a little time polishing to see what i thought would be possible. it needs a lot of cleanup and im not sure what i want to do w/ the stock

That looks great, especially for a first attempt! And using onion juice flux too!

You must be a natural born craftsman. That is one nice solder job mate! Your first time you say- I'm impressed. Add front and rear sights and that will look super sweet.

That was a pgp- Now its a bolt action mini rifle with a 9' s/s 680 bore, sidetubed w/springfeed or cram and jam. Also really fast to reload. Home made trigger group useing original pistol grip. Still in the works.. Seriously, for your first attempt it came out really nice. Are you addicted to the brass yet?

If you are using a wire wheel to clean up the solder joints, please use lead free solder. The little pieces get everywhere, and you will track them into the house with the wife/kids/dog/cat/ferret/whatever else doesn't do heavy metal poisoning well.
