Very nice!

I think it's harder knowing all of the faults and variations yourself, even when others don't notice them.

While [I] might have trouble selling it on it's own value, I prefer an imperfect "creation" over plain ano.

dude that sniper is sexy. If I knew it wouldn't take forever to get my markers to you I'd send you probably 3 or 4 to do. You've got some nice skills there.

With that tank, I believe you might be on to something.

I've been googling my buttocks off reading about this stuff, and lost track of where I read this; but someone was asking an anodizer if it were possible to do ghost effects. The anodizer replied no; but the way you have those different shades of green going, and how the different shades aren't readily obvious in further back pic, I think you have found a way to do ghosts, at least it the same color. Do they make a pearlescent dye for anodizing?

Thanks for all the compliments!

There is no pearlescent dye for anodising, look at dye as it is, plain dye, not paint, that the metal absorbs in the anodised layer. (also why pure white is not achievable) Any effects creating gloss, dust, pearl should be done by preparing the surface of the material prior to anodising.

I think a pearlescent effect is doable, but it will require work on the parts. (maybe sandblasting with very coarse media?)

@ Northup: Ti wire. Reusable and easy to clean using pickling paste for stainless steel. Any shop that welds stainless steel should have this stuff. Just a word of warning, this stuff is very corrosive compared to the sulphuric acid and lye used for anodising:

Acid versus Steel.mpg - YouTube

That's etching a tap out of a stainless steel workpiece using pickling paste... The dose was a bit concentrated so things got carried away. But it cleans Ti wire in seconds...

@ i-bunker-u: Would love to, but you being in canada, and me in the netherlands, equals lots of shipping costs.
