I have been making slow progress on my pile of poo build off entry, and this is a thread to show off my work on it. Starting picture: ![]() pretty pooey, ![]() Split it apart: ![]() Laying it out to get an idea ![]() Still have a bit of cleaning up to do on the welds, but I covered up the side holes for the hammer sear pin and got rid of the slot for the sears along the bottom. ![]() Plan was to freak bore it, but a nelspot barrel is shorter than a freak insert, so I made an extension ![]() Then came the freak boring: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I still need to bore the extension for the freak insert, I didn't actually have any inserts when I did it to get the length right. Also got new phantom internals including a fluted hammer and #6 power tube for this. So far my cost is: $15 - Reamer for freak boring $50 - new internals $2 - new screws _____ $67

looks good so far, I was thinking about splitting my feed off one of my 007 and boring the body and treading it as well, yours looks great so far. I am inspired Bart

I got the hammer and the rest of the internals from the BST here. If by "mill stock ones" you mean milling flutes into stock hammers, no I don't. I don't have a mill so most of my work is done by hand if not on the lathe or drill press. I believe super_stanchy does though. I got some more work done over the long weekend. And finally picked up some freak inserts for myself off craigslist so I don't have to borrow them anymore. The extension bored out: ![]() ![]() After the insert, the bore goes up above .70, debating whether or not to add any porting since I have about an inch after the insert. Drilled and tapped the body so I can secure the rail at the front again since I cut it short to allow for bottom feed. ![]() ![]() I found some thin steel angle lying around so started pounding it into rough shape for a spring feed. I haven't done anything about the length yet but I am hoping to be able to get 10 rounds and not stick out beyond the barrel. ![]() I cut out a slot on the other side of the body to allow for dual cocking rods, but have yet to figure out pump handle/bolt action or whatever I will and up doing. I tried testing it out, but I think the pierce pin is completely blocked, I did manage to get a few shots off when I swapped in the valve body from my working nelspot so the rest of it works. I will either get rid of the old pierce pin which doesn't even have a seal, although sealed fine against the 12 gram. and drill/tap the body for a phantom pin. or make a new body from scratch with some adjustability for the valve spring.

Well, as much as I wanted to, it doesn't look like this one will be making it into the build off. That doesn't mean it will be abandoned though. Hopefully i will have more time over the winter to work on it and get it done.

I'm sure the poo build will return. There's no real end to it, just a judging of what's been put down.
