Cutting a camelbak tube I've never cut one before. Mines a bit too long for my taste. Has anyone ever cut one before? Any tips? |
You might want to slice lengthwise down the tube where the mouthpiece barb is in order to get it off without stretching the tube. If you stretch the tubing too hard, it will deform and be useless. Use a sharp razor blade to cut clean through, and you should be able to reinsert the mouthpiece into the newly cut tube. |
Just like that? Not too bad sounding |
Yes, it's rubber tubing.. I don't think they've gone to silicon tubing, but the method would be the same. I would recommend cutting through the tubing at the base of the mouthpiece/sipper to remove it, then cut length wise along the barbs to remove the tube. This way you don't accidentally cut too far along the hose while the mouthpiece is still mounted. Then wear the reservoir and see what length would work best. Keep a piece of electrical tape or sharpie marker handy so you can mark where you want the mouth piece to be, cute the hose (you can even use kitchen shears) and reinsert the mouthpiece. It really is that easy. E |
Well thank you very much all |
Make sure you leave a little length in case you route it through a shoulder strap, or any other gear. |
