| Newbie Join Date: Jun 2012 | Freak front thread spec?
I have searched high and low for this and I'm hoping someone in MCB can answer my question ... Does anyone know the thread specs for a freak front??? - I would like to make my own front (out of another barrel) Thanks in advance for any help. |

I cant remember off hand what the major od is but I know its 16 tpi double lead.

If you have Autodesk Inventor you could use the specs from zdspb Freak

not sure on major or minor dia. but the thread is a 16tpi dual lead. i just measure a freak back over the threads and turn to that, then thread till the back fits.

Minor Dia .821 Major Dia .866 Pitch Dia .854-.842 16 Tpi Double Lead (thats a 32 TPI insert on a cnc haha....) i have a full print i made when i was doing the freak tip threading....

holy crap! Never even occured to me to use a 32 tpi insert, duh. I was just single pointing them. You can tell Im not a lathe guy.
