Project "Mamba" Nelson pump project

Earlier in the year i set out to develop a couple of new markers. I became delayed due to a divorce and lots of extra work. However i have gotten back on track a bit and wanted to show some of the progress i have made.

A local investor has also stepped forward to help me produce the first run of these markers (10) so i plan to move very fast on these now. (Yes Cunha ur project is also at the top of the list lol)

What we have here is the begining of what i am calling project "mamba" it is a convertable nelson based pump that has a removeable angel feedneck thread for conversion to stock or hopper play. the body will be threaded with cocker threads. The marker is designed to use hpa at 800 psi. All parts will be aluminum where possible. Nelson springs. Delrin cupseal.

I will keep a updated list as i finish each additional part

The prototype body is finished and a aluminum test body will be done this week. this is a blank machined in machinable wax just to test dimensions.

The prototype grip frame is also completed in wax and ready to move to the production step. Most of these parts have been Cad drawn and are simply waiting to get to the test cut phase. I plan to use as many of premade parts as available to keep costs down.

This grip has been edited and may recieve one or two revisions but u get the idea.

Power tube
Cupseal
Asa
hammer
hammer catch
trigger
pump
pump arm
asa

Input and opinions welcome

Im liking the idea already...

What type of grips are you going to toss on the frame? Looks a bit big for normal 45 pannels..

This grip is a custom grip that i designed after taking measurments from about 20 peoples hands, it will use a aluminum grip panel. After the prototypes are done i intend to offer this grip, a .45, and a 90 degree version. Really not a hard strech to edit for the different grips but i want to get a working model done before i bother with accesories.
I highly doubt ill make more than 10 or 12 a year so each one will likely be a custom job for the owner.
6 of the 10 are already spoken for.

Yes its great it can be threaded, glued, drilled punched, and mimics metal as well as any other medium. And when u are all done u melt it and reuse it.

delrin cupseal? I thought some form of polyurethane was preferable.

Interesting project though.

I'd be very interested if it happened to be over barrel side cocking, especially two sided a la buzzard

Thats a really good question. It is designed to compete with most high end pumps that exist. Raw material componets come in at about 40.00 currently and i have not figured in machine time and anaodizing costs yet. I want to keep them low, but they won't be price competive with a talon i can promise you.

This first batch will have some extra costs as i am using CP barrels, Cp regulators (there is no manuel adjustment for velocity in the marker), Cp angel feednecks, Lapco powertubes and cupseals. About 100.00 in parts.

In the production model, we will manufacture our own, powertubes, and cupseals, and that will lower the price a bit.

The production model will be completly milled and polished to make the apperance. Im not planning on trying to sell a million just a few and the focus is performance, appearance, and versitility.

I guess what i am saying is that right now i don't exactly know. Cheaper than a carter or palmers but more than a phantom would be a good guess.

My test cupseals have worked very well with delrin above 400 psi. Should last a million times longer in theory (we shall see) design will be adjusted as nessisary. It is an over the barrel pump but the pump arm rides under the body between the body and grip. however could easily be adjusted for that purpose or made into an under cocker (hmmm two new platforms...asp and adder )

I have been making cocker cupseals out of delrin for a few years (6) with no problems. They should work great for pumps.
Looks like a sweet little marker! Great job
