The Milsig bullpup project

I've had this floating around for awhile, figured you great messiahs of modding would enjoy this. The basic idea was to take a milsig MK1 equipped with the AK front end and mod it to be a bullpup and well ladies and gentlemen it's basically done (at least the prototype that is) but in any case picture time

we then made a new custom handguard

which led to this

we needed a new part to hold the solenoid in place from the A5 egrip so I designed this part. It's currently being made via a 3d printer

and lastly we got some cheap rails and we mounted them resulting in this

as it stands right now I'm waiting on the solenoid housing and after that need to do some wiring to get it operational and at least test the bloody thing. plans for the future include a side air tank. new furniture; one in traditional AK colors and one that is cnc perhaps, and lastly maybe being modded to fire the Scarab first strike mags. well in any case tell me what you think

did some light testing today, the current bi-pod is going to have to go. just doesn't seem to have the range of motion needed and is to much of a pain to plop back up when I need it. but that's okay since it's a little more in tuned to what I plan to do in the future. The final variant will look like a mix between the SVU rifle (which the mod is based on, see below) and the milsig. Have alot of new parts planned as well, I'll post the concept files when they are a little more refined...

all the parts have come in today. Currently I'm trying to fit the solenoid in the new housing (note to self design with a little wiggle room) where after my good buddy will help me rewire everything. Got a new magwell as well which I plan to cut down to help give it a more AK look (if that's possible) I've put the right handed cocking handle in as well and even polished the inside of the receiver to a nice shine. And last but not least I swapped the old milsig nameplate to the older railed version. I'll get pics up once everything is done

Love what you've done so far. Can't wait to see the "finished" product

well you're going to be waiting awhile for a "finished" product. This is just a proof of concept, I plan to go alot farther with this. To the point of a new receiver, cocking handle, and barrel block/trigger system, basically only the barrel, internals, and a few accesorries will be left. I plan to have it use the new milsig square mags and after I can finally get the electronics to work and test I'll be researching different mechanical methods. Basically when it's all said and done I'll have a completely custom marker and alot of the parts should be interchangeable with current K-series so I might even think of selling some them. But first things first I need to survive this upcoming week of finals before I can do anything else
