solenoid w/o a board

In the spirit of the mech Ion I want to do something similar only using a solenoid. I am doing this so I can relocate the trigger and run wires instead of hoses. I have a couple of MAC 43 Solenoids and was hoping someone might have some advice about setting this up.

Thanks, Paul

Not mine--Spider's. His description of the firing modes has always made his wiring setup stand out in my mind.

Very glad you liked it. I still play with that one. That circuit takes advantage of automag features and operation.

I haven't seen the specs on the MAC, but I would expect that it will need a capacitor, like in a rainmaker.

You can add a potentiometer to adjust the dwell for efficiency purposes. An ion bolt with dual tail o-rings may be helpful, but I think I would just aim for the average ion dwell.

The shutoff switch is very nice to have for storage.
