apex tip + freak inserts question

As the title says, has anyone tried freak inserts and apex tip at the same time? I figure the insert would add consistency and make the spins possibly more consistent. Figured since it'd probably have to be custom machined this is the appropriate thread. I've ran both individually and I'm curious if the combination is worth it.

Deadlywind makes their Fibur barrels which take Freak inserts, and also have the adapter to clamp an Apex tip on the end... So there must be some merit to the combination.

I have that setup, but can't comment personally because I haven't tried it out yet. It's just been sitting pretty for the off-season...

the superfreak kit from empire comes with an apex ready tip.

i have freaked a few barrels for inserts that were apex ready barrels

i dont use the apex system, i like shooting straight and consistent, i was too sporadic with the apex

companies are making apex ready tips, most barrels have the option now, its pretty crazy!

Similarly, anyone know of a good machinist here to ask about getting a barrel machined for both of these things?

It's a zeus pistol. I'm getting it in a trade as a project marker but I don't have any specifics on sizing the barrel yet. If you have the dyes I'd be open to anything that will allow an apex(2) tip.

they wouldnt be worth putting a freak into

the problem is the barrel threading is more of a barrel tip

it would be cool to make an apex adapter, thats easy
i would be against freaking it

you would have a ball shot in a big bore, get funneled into a small bore, then open up to a big bore and then twisted by the apex

also, you wanna make sure you have clearance to remove the 12gm with the super fat apex tip

SP / GOG made an actual apex freak tip. I've used it with both the apex and apex 2. Doesn't help accuracy. Spinning balls will always drift especially at a distance.
