Outstanding. I am full of jealousy.

Machine specs for the rest of us nerds?
It was like one day I woke up and every paintball field had been occupied by a slightly overweight military force.

Thanks all for the kind words of encouragement, its been a long road to this point. I'm aiming for a shooting vid very soon.

As for anno, I probably will do this one black as I plan on using it for woodsball. Shiney in the woods = short game. I'm also considering water transfer just to try something different.

If theres a group of machining nerds here, I'm obviously in the right place..

Most of the milling has been done on a Hermle C600U 4 axis VMC.

Specs:10,000RPM spindle, BT40, Rennishaw probe, 30 tool ATC, encoder and linear glass scales (resolution of 0.000004") on X Y and Z, Siemens servo drives, Heidenhain 430 control.

The model we have is a heavy duty unit, the more common model is 5 axis with a trunnion and rotary instead of a fixed table, 15,000 and 32,000rpm spindles available. Only Hermle I know of in western Canada, it's an amazing machine.

Not ours, but similar minus the trunnion.

Very nice build. Check out the Shop Talk thread in the airsmith section. That is where most of the home shop machinists hang out around here.

Very nice!

Be careful... We have had lots of problems with TMs coming in for repairs. It may be the operators, but they all seem to be very difficult to trouble shoot and get functioning again (I know it is basically a Mini/Axe, but they act weird :/ )

Brass Monkey Customs

Brass Freak, Freak XL compatible and Equation inserts in .670, .678, and .685 (As I no longer have access to the machine to make certain sizes, I will not be replacing any which go out of stock.)

Still selling brass tubing, with .678 barrel stock now available!

My feedback: MCB - eBay - AO

Follow Brass Monkey Customs on Instagram and Facebook (work in progress)
