No truer words have ever been written.

I can't say that I blame you ToyBox. Besides, some things should stay unique and one of a kind. That there is a piece of art!

Hmm...do they have a casting wax you could print with? That would be really handy.

^^ They have a cornstarch based bioplastic (PLA), which can be used the same way as "lost wax casting".

Any specs on what printed this?

I had not thought of getting PLA out of a casting.

I guess a solid cast brass Tiki would be a bit heavy. Just a bit.

I made it using a Printrbot LC that I built over the winter. The material is ABS plastic, the same stuff Lego is made from. It should last a long time used as a pump handle.

That's pretty decent results on a very cool handle. We have a printer at work that took a lot of tinkering to get the calibration worked out, but once it was, the leyers were very smooth.

For anyone who has access to a 3D printer, I have uploaded the file, free of charge, to Thingiverse under a Creative Commons license for non-commercial purposes.

Now I have to convince my wife to let me buy the laser etcher I found with the attachment for etching round objects. Then I could have a Hawaiian printed barrel to go with the tiki pump.
