That's what I already use for polishing by hand and for touch ups. None of the aluminum parts have been polished yet but will be perfect. Everything is going up to 1200 grit, then polishing wheel with 2 different compounds, then a final polish by hand with mother's mag polish.

A small update here once I get pics up.

Finished up the secondary guide today. Tapped out the hole I drilled yesterday and fitting the threaded section.

Little too long

I filed down the threaded piece until the guide sat flush and as straight as possible. Then threw on some blue loc-tite

Completed guide

The guide wasn't looking as good as I liked so I repolished it and took more pictures

Got quite a bit more done tonight.

Got all these parts to 1200 grit

Then did a little polishing by hand to see what they'll look like. They definitely need more work, might step up to 2000 grit before polishing them but I know the polishing wheel will take a lot more out than quickly by hand with some random cloth.

And a few of the polished main guide, custom brass secondary guide and 1 pump rod on the handle

I really like how the asa turned out with the black accents. I plan on leaving the feedneck and VA black as well for now for more black accents.

The freak tip still has blue ano showing in the ports and it's a pain to get rid of. I could either strip the ano completely and repolish it or hope that the rougher polishing compound will take it out.

Lots and lots of more fun stuff today.

First and best thing is my new, correct, VA arrived!! With new VA screw as well.

Looks good with the hyper 2 too!!

After looking at my parts I decided I needed to get back to the basics and really sit down and do them right. I kinda slacked the first time around so I got a bright work light and wet sanded all the parts down to 600 and 1200. Spent a little time working on this (read over 2hrs just wet sanding 2 grits)
Then spent some time on the polishing wheel.

Sorry for the finger prints, took pics after my roommate and a friend had looked them over.

Gave this another polishing

They came out good but not quite what I want and knew I would probably need to step up to 2000 grit like I normally do. Currently working on scratching up the shiny parts and then will repolish even better.

The frame is up to 400 grit for now, hopefully will be up to 2k tonight as well and ready for polishing.
Body still haven't been touched, kinda putting it off for a minute.

Bought a dremel polishing kit for doing small spots, the breech of the gun etc.
Finally got my valve out, made a valve tool for $2 so the body is fully stripped.

Been a bit since an update, haven't done a whole lot of work on this project. Been messing around with different polishes at home and really need to buy a few other polishes and wash all my micro fiber clothes to see the best results. I have my pump guide very very close to perfect but the other parts are not polishing out quite as well but I haven't done everything the same. I'm kinda experimenting for the best results. I need to spend some time at the polishing wheel too, been using a dremel polishing wheel for testing but it's just too small for what I need.

I have also put some time into the body which is where my focus is shifting now. I want to get that rolling since I have all the parts basically.

Here's a few progress pics:

Back view, you can see the left side is more round which is what both sides will be

The sides of the gun are getting some major work done, I've been working on one side more to get the shape I want then I'll bring the other side down to even.

Thought I'd post up again, been working on the body for a while now.
A lot done, a lot more to go!

I have at least started the shape I'm going for and got a better idea of what I actually want. I knew what I wanted to do but wasn't exactly how it'd look or the best way to do it.
I'm going to dump a bunch of pictures of the body, I took pictures 2 different times I believe and they'll be in chronological order so hopefully that helps.

I've still been working on one side more than the other to get an idea of my final shape before doing both and trying to keep them equal as I think and see what I want it to look like.

The bottom tube is coming along, I still have a good bit of metal even on the smooth side and will continue to work on that. The rough side has a long way to go but using a dremel high speed cutter I don't want to cut too much or too unevenly and make more work to bring it back flat and smooth.

The top tube has been getting some work done and is turning out great I think. You can see the left side has majority of the work done. I'm thinking out the section behind the feedneck and tapering it down towards the bolt. This should match the skinny bottom tube better and give the gun a more sleek design.
