If you take advantage of a pressure chamber you can get better rates of flow as the Co2 has already expanded. My small launcher is around 20" long and chucks potatos around 100 feet or more. I am using a electrically operated valve to control it as well.

I will say that the washer handle is a neat idea as it eliminates a lot of parts, How much material there is extra? As in could I chop up the grip and such to make it smaller for an under-mounted system?

Of course if you are local there is always delivery by trebuchet. However, either method of delivery requires wrapping in a plastic bag to prevent leakage of urine.<from pickle>

Most of the plastic could be removed. The newer handle I bought has screws holding the plastic together.

I'm in VA Beach, and i -think- there is a Northern near me, thanks.

I never noticed you were in VA, do you ever go to SplatBro's?
I'm about thirty minutes from you, and yes I go to Splatbrothers sometimes. I will be going up there for the annual Santa vs Grinch game whenever they post a date.

Well while I was at a house I'm building...low and behold the paintsprayer caught my eye....the spary handle/gun seems to me would be another option to the spray washer handle...fittings can be used on both ends to modify whatever you need....

The only possible problem with using a paintsprayer, is working pressure versus flow volume. I tried using a paintsprayer, but it did not have enough volume of air to push the rocket.

That may be so pillage...just a thought...mine is a big commerical one that does 15-20 gals in under a hour....I took a spare handle last night apart....when I looked at it with the restricting hardware used to funnel down the flow before it hits the air nozzle removed it's just a on/off trigger then...I may play with it and see what happens...

The worse thing that could happen is it won`t work. I liked using the power washer spray nozzles because they are cheap and can handle high pressure. Doc Zox`s launcher works off high volume low pressure, and is a fairly simple way of lauching a nerf rocket. His link takes out a lot of the guessing as well. The worst part in building a launcher is figuring out what will work, and limiting how many trips to the hardware store you have to take.

that design "how to" is not mine

but I do build launchers with rainbirds

although i prefer to drill the pilot and make it a pneumatic trigger

the solenoid ones open a 1/16 inch hole

bigger is better IMHO

the standard plan is this one by the antenna launching collective

Bigger is better...the faster the volume can move, the better the results....
