Defective Zetamag springs, and how to fix them

I found a way to fix sticking/bending springs in zetamags

I have 6 zeta mags. The majority don't lock. I just load them like a real mag: 1 ball at a time.

Yeah but it's pain in the ***, come on. Also the springs will kink and get stuck at some point anyway because of the way they fold.

Thanks for this. Only one of my zeta mags lock reliably. Was looking for different springs in the meantime. Still a good product, unfortunate that day one a lot had this problem.

Hey that's awesome, I'm gonna have to try that, mine wouldn't lock at all on one side

ARGH!!!! You're doing it wrong! You have to hold the follower release UP while locking the follower itself down. Says so right in the instructions that everyone but me threw out when they got the mags. Doing that will most likely stop the "mangling at the bottom of the mag", and most other problems people have. Only one of my mags has been kinked, and that's because I didn't have a good grip while trying to lock the follower down, thus letting the follower release down and causing problems.

I followed the instructions. Still have them as well. Springs got mangled

No you don't. The hooks inside the ball follower are sloped to catch automatically, and even if you pull the release by hand, the spring gets mangled WAYYYY before it reaches the hook that catches the ball follower. The springs are trash, it's a fact.

Thanks for putting out the video on this. I had read about using the Rap4 20 round springs as a replacement but didn't know if it was an exact drop in or if you had to trim them down some. After watching this, that question was easily answered. :)

Do you know if the regular spring will feed first strike rounds without issue?

thanks for this. Just picked up a new zetamag to try and have issues out of the box, but I see what you're taking about with the spring in mine too. Glad to know it's just a crappy spring, not happy about a $30 new mag that needs new parts
