boring and shortening 8in sp venturi barrel

Im considering having a barrel milled to accept freaks and cutting the barrel at the 1st port (closest to the marker)as ive heard if a ball breaks it sprays paint on ur mask any issues w/doing either? and a estimated price ?Also i think i know the answer but i was told (by a pb shop owner)that shortening the barrel will decrease distance an accuracy.
Opinions please

velocity could decrease by a small amount, but just adjust the velocity.
I have never heard of paint spraying out of the porting onto someone. Accuracy won't change whatsoever. A 1 inch barrel has the same accuracy as a 20 inch barrel. The shorter the louder.

I think a 6" barrel shoots the same as a 20 inch - but there would be a noticeable difference with a 1" barrel.

It takes about 8" for the ball to accelerate completely to 280-300 range. Shortening the barrel beyond that means the ball is still accelerating as it leaves. This can sometimes cause the ball to take on a bit less of a regular arc, because it no longer has the barrel to keep the propellant gas behind it evenly. In a perfect world this would not matter, with a stationary barrel and a single shot. However, because of outside influences such as wind and the tendency to rapid fire while moving, thus creating puffs of propellant rapidly in a different direction than the first, it can negatively affect accuracy.

You need someone to tell you the length of a freak insert. That and you will need to bore from the front and then come up with a thread in/on keeper to keep the freak insert in the barrel
