A Semi-ed Hammer 7?

I thought someone would have automated one by now.

I thought somebody was working on one. I know easy isn't always the answer, but the easy thing would to just pick up a MR5.

I know, but instead of designing a side fed, FS shooting Sniper, I bought a Hammer 7.

Right? Even if you just keep the magazine and receiver and toss the rest, it's a good start.

For the rate of FSR fire I can afford, a pump is good. For the purpose of fragile but accurate rounds, a closed bolt is good.

Being able to track and adjust a followup shot right away would be very nice, but my wallet hides at the thought of multiple FSRs per target. It kind of detracts from the idea of FSRs as the pinnacle of accuracy, too.

So, to the task at hand....

You either need to re-spring a Hammer 7 much lighter, so that the return of the ram isn't as hard as the stock cocking stroke, or setup something like a sandridge with different cocking and return pressures / cylinders. With the two bolt lugs, you could have a fat cocking cylinder on one side and a skinny return cylinder on the other side. A needle valve on the return cylinder supply would make a nice return rate control.

Can you get there with the usual 5-way solenoid? Seems like it should.

Funny this post came about today... I JUST (as in a few hours ago) got my "jack-hammer" working. I'll post pictures and maybe a video later tonight when I get home from work. It's a dual ram cocker now. Thing... is... ridiculous. LOL You'll see.
