Lever Action Maverick/Traccer Build Log

This is my build log,

It will be updated with photos and such as i have the time and parts, and hopefully serve as a bit of instruction for those who want to build their own.

I'm starting with a fairly standard unibody maverick/traccer and going to be converting it into a lever action rifle.

Starting out with:

Day 1: Used a dremel to widen and lengthen the slot on the lower tube to accept the undercocking needed for the lever

Still need to do:

Pretty much everything, need to find a stock still.

Today:

-Installed Lapco powertube, cupseal and valve-nut.
-Ordered 10/22 stock for project marker (stock found here: Armscor 20C .22 LR Semi-Auto Rifle Stock | e-GunParts.com)

Long to-do list, I may begin working on making the trigger grouping tomorrow.

On the lookout for a cheap bucket changer and ASA to Hose reducer.

I'm interested in seeing where this goes, it puts my "lever action" maverick to shame.

Rainman, perhaps you could make an aluminum version of Saber's design? We can take size and angle measurements later today.

Please remember this is a prototype and it was done by hand (I quit smoking and needed to fill the void)

When I have time Ill do a more formal write up and I will have redone the working parts by then too

that was actually kinda my plan, most stocks have a similar grip area, so standardizing trigger grouping instructions along with a nice lever would be very helpful.

and Rainman,

Doing the basic design will not be a problem, when i get my stock and the other info in place, I'll draw up a blue print and send it your way.

Hey, where are you planning to get a lever from? I'm starting on my own lever-action Phantom project over the Xmas break (Seems to be all the rage as of late.), but don't know where to get one.

This build log needs pics!

As for the lever, I was just thinking about my first BB gun... one of those Daisy lever action ones. They are about $20, and they have a lever. You could probably use the wood stock for something else as well. It is plastic, though.
Just an idea.
