If you're wondering why...

I am selling off so much of my gear well here is the reason!
I picked up this KP in a trade the other day and as the photos show it will need lots of TLC and $$$$ to get it going again. It took me three days to get the bolt out and it invloved some force. The hammer is caked in... something between rust and old paint. I have yet to start cleaning on it and wanted to keep a running update on here.
When the deal started I was told it was a KP3, well it turns out it is a KP2 with a dirrect feed on it. Once I get it cleaned it will be taking a trip to Palmers to have valve work, insta pierce, a pump rod, drop out slot, feed tube reinstalled(with spring feed), barrel match honed and detents.
The "crack" in the stock is grain not a crack. The stock will be first on my list to get done now that I have the bolt out. I will be sanding it down and refinishing it in a lighter color than the original. I have noticed there are old paint stains in the wood in some places. Anyone have tips on getting them out other than just sanding? Here are the pics, just don't pay any attention to the misc one's in the folder.

Is this the one from Doc's site? Then you are that guy that he went with. What did you end up giving him? I offered a stock '01 cocker and a stock '96. He said yes, then backed out.

Well...

If it's going to be too much work, you could just send it to me... I'd even help you out, and cover shipping.

I tell you though, with the stuck hammer, try soaking it in Coca Cola...The phosphoric acid in it cuts rust very well...(it happens to be the main ingredient in Naval Jelly, makes you wonder why we drink it...

Anyway, good snag...

Catchya on the Flip Side.....

That is one very nice project kp. My KP2 looked just like that when i got it. No stain, df mod, plumber tank rings, ca, and really gunked up. As for taking off the paint, use some stripper, id sand off stain, but stripper is the best for taking off paint.

A new in box stock 04 with a Palmers rock, and a case of paint if he comes to the Oct. Viper game here in Tx......he only lives about 30 min. from the field!!!

It was the bolt that was stuck and it took some serious to get it out. I tried penitrating oil, freezing it........large hammer and a covered piece of rebar did the trick! And please note I said it was covered so I didn't scratch the barrel.
