Display stand

I decided I wanted a way to display a marker and I don't like the barrel mount versions like the PE stand. This is what I came up with. I'm also having a female dovetail rail made so that I can easily mount a gun with a rail ASA. I still have to either paint or get it powder coated.

I'm also going to see about possibly doing something that will mount directly into an ASA.

What about a piece of tube with a notch cut out to allow it to slip in with ASA attached? Maybe rubber/foam padded internally..

AKA Fan
that looks pretty nice looking , like the idea of not having to mount it via the barrel

honestly you could just leave it as-is...the raw look is not bad. you could also polish it to a high sheen, or sand it in one direction to give it a nice brushed look.

It is steel so it will at least need a clear coat to stop it from rusting. I do like the idea of rubbing it with a scotch brite to give it a grain. I'll have to test it out and see how it comes out.

Great looking piece. I don't like the barrel holding ones either. But, I imagine that to pick up the marker you also bring the stand with. It you had some studs that you threaded into the frame and then some holes in the frame for those to go into, you wouldn't brind the stand when you wanted to handle the marker.

hmm...let it rust a bit, and then clear coat it? it'll have a weathered look, but only be cosmetic. similar to what a lot of classic car guys do to their old car paintjobs, you know? preserve the patina / rust, but seal it to it's just superficial and doesn't rust the whole panel out.

or maybe brush it like you want, and then wax it / seal it, but not with paint? i've heard mothers mag polish seals the surface and will help protect against oxidation.

1/2" union fittings are Sa WeeT for attaching your marker to a marker stand w/a ASA…just a few twists of the knob and your marker is either attached or unattached.

easy to find, easy to use, not very expensive.

I'll have to look into that for my next ones or to possibly add onto these ones.
