I like nylon cap nuts. Highly under-utilized imo.

Very clean in there!

Here is a step-by-step for this build using the Older and FATTER Clippard SM6
** EDIT: The New version of the SM-6 mini ram is thinner and WILL Fit inside the frame. Instead of filing the frame it would need to shimmed to be held in place.

FAQ to prepare the frame for the Older-styled (fatter) SM6
Prepare the U-Channel

To get the ram to fit inside the frame you’ll need widen a section of the grip frame.
I used a 8” Nicholson round file with a DIA of 7.5mm to create a shallow U-channel on Right side of the frame.

The Ram should be seated inside at this angle. It’s roughly 60 degrees.

In order to file this channel you have to remove the safety. The removal of the safety is delicate step.
If you mess up here and lose the tiny ball bearing & spring—you’ll be up the creek!
The operation of the trigger plates depends on the safety as a stop.
You want to push the safety switch through and Beyond the “Safe” mode. Do this with a pair of needle nose pliers.
This will expose the ball bearing and spring below. Put these two parts aside.

Using the file and slowly remove material until you can slide the ram inside.
Take your time so that you can get a snug fit.
The channel should look like this from the top and the Bottom.

Drill and tap for a 8-32 setscrew in the side of the frame to secure the ram.
I drilled the hole slightly to the right of Dead center of the channel.

Prepare the Ram

Plug the bottom Input with a 10-32 set screw.
Extend the threads on the Ram-shaft until it reaches the shoulder of the Ram.
This will be a 8-32 Die.
Trim off the Tip of the ram and set a nylon acorn nut on top.

Dry fit the Ram with the MSV-2.
To provide additional support I filed the bottom of the ram so it mates against the MSV.
Position the ram so that the tip–the nylon nut is ~17mm from the top of the frame.

Reinstall the trigger plates, trigger and Safety.

*Hint* Insert the safety until it’s almost all the way through. Next drop the mini spring and ball bearing into the hole.
Use a small screwdriver and carefully press down on the ball bearing while at the same time Pushing the safety bar through. You are home free once you get this done.
One last thing. Grind down the top grip frame panel screw or it will bottom out on the Ram.
Follow the First Pneucocker 1 to finish it off.
Have fun

Here's a little video. I do notice it slower with a Pre2-K back block
*sigh* I'll never learn to walk a trigger.

ASP Online Store: Fabco MSV-2 3-way Valve

ASP Online Store: Clippard SM-6 Cylinder

The SF frame comes from the electronic versions of the Trillogy Autocockers. That might be the hardest thing to find, but the whole marker isn't too expensive.
