You were already on the list whether you liked it or not need to make sure this thin wall titanium can hold up to a gnarly core sample or three.

Still selling brass tubing, with .678 barrel stock now available!

I found a neat online calculator for shrink fits, once. Give it a size and a material and it tells you the temperature you need. Then I messed with my tolerance zone until the whole thing stuck, but wasn't too hot to work with.

Keep in mind 6061 ages fast over 350F, so any fits needing more than that should be done with a hot oil bath or something that will get it there in seconds instead of hours.

What if you freeze the titanium as well, to shrink it? That way the heat expands the collar and the cold shrinks the titanium, less extreme temperatures on both pieces.

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”

Yep, that works too. I keep forgetting people still have liquid CO2 they can use to make stuff really cold...
