Any more ideas? I think I may just end up making a standard Sluggo body.

I thought about that too. But I'd probably get caught up in the small parts and it'd probably take a while to make them. Now that I think about it, a Sluggo would take longer to make.

I've talked to my mentor and he's up for the slug body but he's kinda confused on one thing. Going from the back of the body, where the bolt sits, there are notches on the inside. What are they for? Are they important?

the notches are for a washer and cclip. the aluminum isnt strong enough to handle the bolt hitting. The clip and washer is steel. You can get them from agd

Thanks. Anybody have any idea how to bypass machining the complicated slots for the washer and ring?

I'm looking at my AGD Slug right now and it does not have a grove for the washer only the snap ring. It should not be a problem on a lathe with a boring bar and tool stock shaped like a "half circle" that is the diameter of the snap ring.

Oh... almost forgot. You will need these Cocker barrel tap set and these Angel feed neck tap set. Unless you all ready have them.

Please keep us posted on progress with pictures.

I thought sluggos came pre-tapped. Even that CAD up there has the barrel threads already.

My opinion: belay the Angel feedneck, and get the 'cocker barrel taps. ASP sells a nice set, or get some 15/16-20 taps and grind a couple down. AKA feednecks work with 'cocker barrel threads, and they're a good sight beefier than Angel threads.

They do come pre-tapped but I believe he is thinking of building his own Sluggo, unless I'm mistaken.
