my friend did the same kind of thing with his x7. i'll have to get a few pics, i thought it was pretty cool.

It looks like there's lots of possibilities for that.

Is the cocking handle pretty close to your face? Does it matter on an A-5?

no it doesn't. you pull it back when you air up to cock it, but it doesn't move for every shot.
