| The Bolt action Traccer Project has begun!! (56k Warning Picture Heavy!) This project was set in my mind along time ago, it all started with the CGW on the Pukindogs senario teams site The Coolest Gun in the World It could quite possibly have been the cause of what can best be described as my paintballing addiction! As the title states this project is a bolt action paintball marker, based on a traccer/ Maverick Pump. I have been searching for a while for a stock that would suit this concept well, and I think I've finally come across the best solution. The stock is off a cheap air rifle called a QB78 in this project I am intending to use the stock and the trigger unit with a few modifications:-) the air rifle parts can be bought from: QB78 Parts | Tools | Wrenches | Sight Kits | Tubes | Bands | Caps | Archer Airguns Or if your in the UK like me: T R Robb Airguns The list of parts I have so far is: Traccer/ Maverick Pump QB 78 standard cheapy stock, may swap to one of the more expensive ones like the target or thumb hole stocks once the prototype is fully functional QB 78 Trigger Mechanism J&J Spyder 20” Barrel The first stage for me was to get rid of the dreaded traccer barrel threads! They are a long out of existence with only a few choices available, and as this project is about looks I wanted more of a variety so for me changing the threading was the only option. I did some research and out of the common barrel thread (Cocker, Impulse, Spyder Tippmann) The spyder thread seemed the best size for the job, that and I got a 22mm 1.5 (spyder thread) Snap-on tap damn cheap off e bay! :-D The conversion process is really simple the dimensions can be seen in the image below: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once the threads cut and the barrels fitted :-) Makes a nice change to the pretty poo stock barrel! ![]() ![]() the biggest thing in this project is getting the trigger mechanism to work, before I can get to work on that I need to get to work on the stock, the channel down the middle of the body is 21mm which is a perfect fit for the J & J barrel but not for the body of the traccer. so tomorrows job for me is to router out the area where the traccer will sit to a 1” diameter to get a snug fit, then I can get to work on the trigger mechanism! Below are some photos of of the trigger mechanism, stock and a rough component mock up: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see the from the next picture the stock to barrel fit is spot on! Nice and Tidy:-) ![]() ![]() And a rough Mock Up: ![]() ![]() ![]() So the job for tomorrow is routing out the stock and getting the trigger sorted, i will get an update up tomorrow evening.. | I really wish someone would make trigger groups that drop into wood for different guns. It would make conversions so much easier.

| Hey Moto, Nice work! I'm in the UK too and am also working on a similar project at the moment (albeit with a Kingman Hammer clone). It'll be good to see yours up and running - have you decided on a magazine type yet? Good luck, B |

| How are you getting air to the valve? If you are doing all htis work, you might as well route through the wood, and plug the stock ASA.

| Hey pizzadude, im building this for the warped big game in may, are you going to be there? with regards to the air source, im going to plug the asa at the back and route a brass hardline through the stock "handle" to a 12gram quick changer on the underside of the stock, im a bit stuck at the moment as i am wanting to solder the hardline but im not sure where i can get solderable 1/8" nipples |
