| MCB Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: NJ | Steampunk Gun With some of the recent steampunk mods that I have gotten a chance to see like the Steampunk Desktop (Steampunk Flat-Panel LCD Mod), Clockwork Guitar (A Clockwork Guitar, the Steampunk Stratocaster) and many others; I started to wonder if a steampunk paintball gun would look good. Right now I am still in the first stages of my idea and still trying to flush out exactly what I want to do. I have seen one of the pieces Sergison did and really like a lot of the elements in that gun (http://www.sergisonmachine.net/images/lever05.jpg). I was thinking maybe some type of Sheridan, a lot of shiny brass contrasted by black and/or wood. Another possibility is to add some clockwork gears to the piece. I really don't know how that may turn out but right now it sounds interesting. I'll have to think some more on this when I'm less tired. Any ideas? |

| MCB Member | Several people have talked about this in the past. I think it would be a cool project. Personally I would do something a bit stylized, something like a 1930's ray gun...retro future. Think Jules Verne. Like so: ![]() ![]() I think the steampunk trend is running out of...steam, no pun intended. Originally it was cool and fresh and you saw some neat mods, but now you see garbage, like steampunk nerf launchers.

The breach will have a rotating port that you drop the ball into and twist shut. Or maybe the barrel will have an underslung .68 cupped tamping rod/squeegee. |
