I'm not trying to bash on this thread since it is quite informative and I like your idea. I had one question that isn't relatvent to your project that you are trying to do. That is why a Freak? It is Smart Parts right? The Devil in disguise bleeding the paintball industry of its financial resources. Just curiousity. I've actually toss my Smart Parts stuff away and use everything but now.

Anyhow, just curious. On a side note I'd love to see your project finish for the purpose because I like to see projects done.

I would actually get a raptor freak back. Very thin threads to remove and you can see how much I removed for a sterling. Hope this helps.

The only problem with that is how rare those raptor backs seem to have become. Unless you know of somewhere to get them that I don't know, then please let me know, I have a few raptors in my collection that feel left out.

Can't find the raptor backs, but there is an AA Raptor barrel for sale.

Oh, stumbled on a thread on that 'other' forum where someone had a Line SI Freak back made. He used K&P customs and a Doc's Machine freak blank.

K&P Customs + drill press = AWESOMENESS!!! - PbNation
