I had no clue on how "rare" these things may be. I have 4 of them, and began to rebuild them among other projects.

How is your pump stroke? So far mines been terriable.

Pump stroke is good, well sort of. The slots are a bit too far forward on the gun, which creates some problems, particularly with antikink guts.

As far as rarety goes, all arrows point to these being WGP products, and the 40 or so that were up for sale are likely to be the only ones in existance. Unfortunately without some more specific info, as in a picture of the gun with one of the MBs and then info on the guns from that person, or info from Budd himself, or an add, the value is hard to say. There current condition doesnt help too much either. Basicly right now these things are worth $50 bucks, a truely restored one (not just one thats fixed up) might fetch $100-$150. When all are sold from the cousins stokpile you might be able to get 10-15 more on top of that. If I can verify 100% that these are pro45's, or very early commandos, I would think you could tack on 100 bucks to a guns value in any condition.

Al Ray, have you got a pic of one of these "SNY Commandos"? All I am seeing is a few pics of a rusty Nelspot.

Am I missing something (aside from a clue)?

Do tell.

The rusty nelspot is the commando. Its WGP treaded, and was apperently made by WGP specificly for Survival New York bassed on the recolections of a few people (along with the 40 others found). Its all stainless, has a few uique taped holes on the underside, and a stock 007 frame that has been machined (nicely at that) to allow acces to those screws without removal of the frame. Unfortunately its use as a rental hasnt done it well. The CA adaptor may be origonal, but I doubt it seriously, as the Ca addaptors WGP was selling around the time (based on ads) were of the donkey style. The stock 007 guts seem out of place, as well does the pump.

There are numerous other small details as well. Ill try to get some better pictures up.

"SNY Commando" is just the name the best fits at this point, seeing as how the first commandos were made for the Master Blasters at SNY. These could be Commandos, these could be Pro 45s, or they could be a one off run of rental guns, or a combination of the aformentioned. Any way still unique

pump

is the pump you are looking for a black delrin with thick ribs? my gun is outfitted with a line si doubled sided pump. most of the blasters had custom made guns from termite himself. i don't know of any other gun being made for the blasters other than the termite which looked like a 007. i can ask jerry braun as he used to own sny and was a blaster himself back in the day. the 007 you have was definitly a rental and i probably cleaned that gun a thousand times when i worked at sny from 87-98. miss playing and working out there(playing). i'm going to try and get a pic of my 007 for you to see. later - dana

pics of 007 used with master blasters in late 80's

pics of my 007 and a almost stock 007 i forgot i had. had lots of fun with this gun. the quick release has a 4 threaded screw for quick releasing of co2 cartridges. i got that from the team "donner party animals" while judging the big apple open in 86 or 87. i also had the six pack for a short time before ca became available on the east coast. hope you like the pics. later - dana

Thanks for the pictures. If your looking to fix eith gun up, myself, and quite a few members can help you get the parts. Also liking that quick change like the homebrew auto trigger as well.

The particular pump handle I seek is one of two types.
The first type is that found on early commandos. IIRC it will have four ribs and two flat pieces of metal screwed on the sides (these were modified sniper pump handles) It would be great to find one, but Ive got enough stuff to make a copy of one worst case.

The second type, I would just even like to get pictures of, is the WGP made 3/4 wrap pump handle that rode on ball bearings, found on the first 15 Commando's that were supposedly made for members of your team.

It was rummered that the first 15 WGP commandos often called "prize commando's" (see vintage rex) were built for the master blasters. I know I have a rental gun on my hands, what I dont know is who made it (appears to be WGP) and for what purpose (ie were these guns built specificly as rentals or were they somthing that eventuly became a production gun, ect). They obviously arent production commandos. However I also have yet to see a "prize commando" or the WGP pro 45. However I was told these were made specificly for SNY. If you could ask Mr Braun about these I would greatly appreciate it. Worst case I would imagine that it will narrow the field, but I would imagine he could tell us exacly who made them ect.

pump with bearings

i only know of one gun that had bearings on the pump. that pump was so smooth and needed a spring behind it to keep it from pumping while running. howdy built that system on a termite, he's also the first person to invent the anti-kink bolt. called the howdy bolt. he's in that picture that was posted of the master blasters. can't tell in the pic but he has red hair and he was called howdy cause he looked like howdy dudy! lol

Well I made some good progress on the restoration today. Got her pretty colose to done. Fabed up a copy (well best copy I could based on fuzzy ads) of the very early WGP pump handle. Just need another pump linkage arm for it (worst case I'll make one) Also need to locate a wgp bucket changer. Pictures will follow sometime tonight.

EDIT still cant find my camera
