| Ty... just a thought on marking... you could acid etch the brass using some kind of masking for the text... or even bead blast the mask. Just some thoughts for you. E

| Thanks Schmitti... I had considered acid etching, but I wasn't sure it the metal is too thin... I have made PC boards in the past, and handled ferric chloride to etch the copper off. I wonder if it will work on brass? I know that a patina can be created using vinegar and heat, but I don't think the patina is permanent enough. I could always send them to Pillage to have him sandblast the markings in Ty

| Etching should not be a problem.... it's just a little bit that gets taken off, probably less than when lazer engraving. E

| Cool! I will try that. It seems that I can make the mask via a laser printout, and then iron it onto the insert. Then remove the paper carrier, and apply the ferric chloride to etch the copper portion of the brass. Obviously, I can't submerge the insert, or the etching solution will also etch the inside and all. I was considering using a sponge or cotton ball to allow the etching to only occur in a localized area. Does that sound right to you? Ty

| Sounds good... PM me for the rest of the details, shipping, payment, etc. If you want it now, it will NOT be marked, as I do not have the setup for marking the inserts. Ty

| Q-tip should be fine, it will help keep the acid localized and controlled, keep a tissue handy to wipe of excess.. and wear gloves!!!!! E
