Kinda neat-o. Might be cool to see what it'd look like combined with a softer lower/cheek area.

I like that! How much would you charge to throw a spectra frame on one?

wow, didn't expect to wake up to all these comments!

It only took me about 2 hours to get this mask modded for the Spectra lens (armed only with a file and a pair of small model snips). I can also change the contours of the mask to anyone's preference, for the most part.

The aluminum is pretty light weight, and rather pliable, but not to the point where it can get distorted by a mask shot. Before I used it for the first time, I loaded it with an old, cracked mirrored lens and shot the heck out of it with a spyder at about 350-400FPS. Eventually, the lens broke, but the mask didn't budge.

The mask is pretty bright, but I was running field command at scenarios like Invasion of Normandy (Skirmish) up and until I got out of play (2004-2005). It definitely helped in that aspect.
"hey, what are we doing?"
"Apparently taking the castle back. Follow the dude in the metal mask!"
It is brushed, and not polished, so it isn't as bright as it seems. I would have to say that my polished PMI 1 is shinier. I can paint it in any color, or (theoretically) get one anno'ed in any color, but that's another thing I'd have to look into.

During the weekend, I'm going to place a few calls looking for reliable suppliers for the materials. A friend of mine, who works for a government-contracted company, states that he uses the same sheets in his job, but they cost between $30 and $50 a pop. I'm looking to find it a bit cheaper, as only 1 or 2 masks can be made per sheet.

Although I personally vouch for the safety of this mask, I would like to know if there is someone I can talk to about this, possibly my lawyer. It does meet ANSI Standard 1776-01, as it protects "the eyes and adnexa"
'Nobody' was right. ANSI standards only cover the goggles, so

In conclusion, I will hopefully get the materials mecessary to make one of these within a few days, and see how much it will cost me in time and effort to make. Just curious to this one, but how much would people be willing to pay for one of these? I am very bad at pricing, personally.

Ano'ed black....C'mon you can get it splashed, acid washed, or sponged c'mon....

If we can get these ano'ed any color you may need to just sell them over on peanut butter nation 'cause they'll want their mask to match their gun too.......

I'd love to get one powder coated with black background and skulls....Maybe send one over to oddpb customs and get "p-flage" or something like that...

Some sections may need to be solid though to get those ladies all in there.

I really like the idea of it and I really think you should run with it....I may need to steal it and make a few....

Good luck and give me a pm when you get these made,
Skiddish

Sadly, if I can get these into full-swing production, I might... I just don't like those kids!

Mmm. This seems like my thing. It wont give me any bounces, but eh, I never really recalled my mask hits every bouncing all that much.

I don't like spectra lenses since they're annoying to change, but this would be the exception.
