Fun little traccer project...

I just bought another tracer, and want to put it in a rifle stock, and bolt action it.. It'll be really pretty easy.. I've got the stock pretty much made, and the bolt will be dont tomorrow..

any way, what length barrel do you guy's recommend? I'm thinking 16-18in would be most asthetically pleasing on a full rifle stock..

oh, and it'll be a tactical stock class sniper rifle kinda thing.. scope and everything.. bi-pod even...

thanks, I'll have pictures of the process up tomorrow night I think.

cool, I may go that rout.. but I guess I really would prefer to have a monster barrel everything in excess... There is someone on here selling brass tubing.. which I may just use to make a barrel if it comes down to it..

My stock is sweet, I'll have pictures up tomorrow..

barrel

hello mate, have a look at the begining of my bolt action thread, on my marker i used a 20" spyder thread j&j barrel, and re cut the traccer body to take a spyder thread, its very straight forward, and the j&j barrels look very mill spec.

The Bolt action Traccer Project has begun!! (56k Warning Picture Heavy!)

yeah, your's is a major inspiration for mine.. I'm mainly worried about the trigger mech at this point.. I'm just going to roll with the stock barrel and a mock silencer for now.. when some money rolls in, I'll either buy a tap and a long barrel... or just a traccer barrel.

thanks.

heh, here's a few pictures of the stock as of now, and a mock assembly..

I made the stock out of some salvaged maple log that fell durring a storm in our woods, which we then had milled and has been curing in our pole barn for the last 2-3 yrs.. anyway, its pretty with cool age marking and such. I've used only hand tools just for kicks, and it's coming out really really well I think.

and a rough mock up-

Glad to see my Traccer is getting put to use(I assume, anyway). Looks like a really cool project. Are you gonna stain the stock?
