Question Sacrilege to mod a new Ghost?

I have a 2006 Grey Ghost and I love it but . . . I can think of things I would like to change. Just wondering, what do you guys think of modifying a marker thats limited production or possibly a collector, and what do you think of my ideas?

I already started on a new pump handle, its shorter and I'm thinking of making it work with dual pump arms. Which means I would have to make another pump arm, cut a slot in the body, and tap into the bolt The motivation for this is two fold; because I can and, this would make it easier to use a slightly modified barrel kit. which is my main grievance with the ghost.

Also, I know someone with old Spartan pump parts, the trigger frame is basically identical except has a m-16 style mount like a phantom. It doesnt have the mount for the vertical ASA so I might also get a backbottle ASA (from the spartan donor) or try and make it work like the stock frame. Then I could get a 45* frame or I've seen a nice hogue grip at Gander Mountain that fits too.

To tighten the setup Im making a shorter stock, since I dont want to modify the stock one. And would like to get a smaller feedtube. but with the stock one I get picky with the slots not lining up right when its threaded in tight. So, Im thinking of putting some set-screws in the feedblock. which would probably mean that if I get a new feedtube it wont need to be threaded.

Well I rambled on quite a while so thats it for now anyway and heres a picture of what it looks like now.

Note: This will not reduce barrel noise. Real silencers are illegal in most states. This just makes your marker look badass.

oops, how do I edit the poll? for option #3 I meant to say doesnt not does.

And I plan to have all modified parts, new peices, and barrels anno to match the orignal anno. or something even more oldschool if not possible

I voted, it sounds sweet, and believe me, some people find it sacrilegous to do to what could be a rare marker, BUT...... honestly...... we dont care. unless its something like a Loo duck or whatever, there a thread on "sacred cows" (as in what markers would you NEVER mod?) and seems theres a general consensus on go ahead and do it, it just makes the unmolested ones more rare lol.

I can see there are some people agreeing with me, but I would really like to hear any other opinions also. I should have pictures of the new pump handle, and maybe the stock on monday after a little time on the mill

If it were an original Ghost I would say otherwise. Since it is not, go for it!

Mod the hell out of it.

No matter how much I've bugged Lapco to get some mods out for the New Ghost they've come out with nothing. I asked for shorter Ghost barrels, smaller bore Ghost barrels, direct feed mod, back bottle mods, bottom line kits, different pump handles, etc. Still nothing... yet they still come out with more A5 stuff all the time.

It's very disappointing.

agreed, which is why I've been thinking about this stuff, and looking to the older compatible pumps for some of the parts

edit: the local shop owner is a friend of mine an he let me test fit the frame and valve of a nelspot on it, and it looked really sweet. especially with the 12g's in the grip

Well how many ghosts do they sell, and then how many A-5's are there in the world?
