Nicely done. Your version actually looks a little nicer than the store version since you've machined away the blank area of the body so the knurling doesn't just sort of peter out to nothing like on the store version. The other nice way to finish a knurled area is to cut a small short groove so again the knurled section ends cleanly.

I've done shop made presents for the family a few times as well. It's fun for me as I'm sure this has been for you and I think they get a kick out of something unique.
