Use the search feature. It's been discussed several times in multiple threads.

Seems we have become PBNation already. Shame really. I apologize for the unhelpful idiots above. But we let in anybody these days.

The easiest solution is to get an old AKA Merlin valve. They are identical to Spyder valves, except they do not "blowback". You could literally pop one in, and instantly have a rudementary pump.

THen you can improve on that by seperating the bolt and hammer. A common solution is to cut the back section, so the bolt can push the hammer back, but not forward. Then all you need to worry afterwards is linkage.

Alternate approaches include cutting the rear of the body to create a rear block. If you have that ability, it actually makes seperating the bolt, and the linkage a bit easier.

The ultimate question is do you want the pump "quick and dirty", or is looks, feel, and playability also important?

If you follow this link: mcarterbrown.com - Search Results
it will show you threads with pictures on how to convert your Spyder to a pump. The link is a simple search of this site.

These threads explain exactly how to do this, with pictures. Much easier to understand than HP_Lovecraft's post and without the flaming.

nunrleft - Your search didn't work, it might be better to explain how to use the "Search this Forum" link next time.

Since this is such a popular topic, someone should do an official write up that can be stickied, maybe for the "DIY Tech" section.

Clarification on HP's comment: A Merlin valvebody will not remove the blowback from the system. A Merlin valvepin will, but you'll need to modify it for less surface area with a stock high-pressure valvebody, or your velocity will be really low.

If you go with a low pressure valve system, be prepared for a couple of issues that require quite a bit of testing to get the tuning right:

1) you'll need a HPR than can go to fairly low pressures consistently.

2) you'll be spending a lot of time getting the striker spring tension, spring length, and the HPR pressure balanced out, and trying to prevent burp and hammer slop. I tend to increase valve spring pressure by using a spacer, then cutting the stock spring down so it barely has any valve tension when the adjuster is all the way out, then drop the HPR to ~250psi as a starting point.

I usually wind up moving over to a custom spring that I source, but it depends on the valve type, striker style, etc. Usually takes quite a bit of trial and error to get it to shoot cleanly with no striker bounce, and no striker slop afterwards, but that's why people pay me to build and tune them for them...

Does otter have anything on that one? His site usually has a plethora of knowledge on spyder conversions.
OtterSC Customs
Try there for help. If you need any ideas for spyder pistols or rifles let me know, but my knowledge of "spyder pumps" is limited to the Kingman Hammer.
Sorry HP.
