| i am trying to dispose of one of my co2 tanks by micro waving it in an open feild. i have come apon a problem though. i have learned that the burst disk in my co2 tank will prevent an explosion. so if you know any ways around this please tell me what you think. |

| .:|Purification Admin|:. | I think that's a foolish and dangerous practice. We've had enough recent safety issues, including a tank related death. All we need is you and your microwave adding another accident for the media to jump on, as well as the risk to yourself and others. EMPTY the tank of air, throw into recycle bin. OR trade it in at WALMART and get a new filled one for 8 bucks

| FYI, I tried the Walmart tank trade deal, and apparently it only works if you buy one of their tanks first and swap that (Rhino is the service). You can't just bring any ole tank in and get a new one for it, much to my chagrin. At least that's how it was at my local store. It's like swapping propane tanks on your BBQ. Drilling a hole through the tank (after it's fully empty, of course) will ensure that no one tries to refill it if it's damaged. If you're really set on getting yourself a Darwin Award, the burst disk will -help- prevent a tank rupture, but only under normal circumstances (i.e. I left my tank in the sun inside my car). If you microwave a metal tank, a burst disk is not going to help you avoid the fireworks show when the microwaves hit the metal, and you'll probably still blow the tank as the metal weakens regardless of the pressure inside the tank. Also, I wouldn't use a microwave you care about....or hook up to a power system that you care about...or do this around any people/pets that you care about...

| a serious note from the guy who has a caution sighn about flaming zombies. saftey isnt a problem it will take lots of time for the co2 tank to become heated enogh to explode, it took me a minute to get a nikle mildly warm. besides i can run fast. |
