I assume it would be, as long as you're not putting dangerous pressure into it.

I'll be grabbing a length for barrels, in case I can't find enough old crappy ones to cut down.

Well mines done.

As Geech can attest... Pictures of the actual gun will be up once I can finish polishing and whatnot.

I can't wait to see some of these entries.

I'd like to build something like this but sadly I lack the time right now. My 2K PGP was probably getting nervous watching me read this thread.

Anyone wanna post some WIP pics once this is all done? Like I said, I'd love to build one and if I had a bit of inspiration and an idea of what might work I wouldn't be able to resist giving it a try.

Ok... Some specifications first, and then the calculator link

OD = .812
Wall = .062
ID = .688

272 Brass Alloy (Assuming an H55 temper) 60-80 KSI tensile strength Information removed from this website

Ansonia Copper and Brass has a page about the physical properties of the C27200 brass alloy, that backs up the first instance.

According to Engineers Edge, using the 60,000 psi tensile strength number, the rated burst pressure is 10800 PSI. If you assume a safety factor of 5, the max working pressure is 2200 psi.

Please note that this is calculated! There is no proof that ANY of the calculations, nor the information that was removed from the internet is correct. If you plan to use the barrel tube for a pressure vessel... Do MORE research, before you build.

Brass Freak compatible and Equation inserts in .665, .670, .675, .678, .680 and .685

Current Freak compatible inserts in stock:
.665 = 0, .670 = 16, .675 = 3, .678 = 4, .680 = 4, .682 = 4, .685 = 11

Still selling brass tubing, with .678 barrel stock now available!

My feedback: MCB - eBay - AO

If no one could tell..... Im more then likely bowing out on this one.

My scrap aluminum chunk I wanted to use was too small for the design I had so it would of involved to much cost on my end. If I get a chance I could slap something Ive had for a few years back together and enter it but I dont think I will.
