| How do i take apart a 007? Hi everybody. I bought an old 007 a few months ago, and i am finally getting around to restoring it. I got most of it apart, but there were just a few things that i am having trouble with. The first is how to get the hammer out. Am i supposed to somehow take out the sear or something? And my second question is how to take off the barrel. I took out the set screws already, but it doesnt want to budge. If anyone can help, or point my out to a link that will help, then i would be very greatful. Thanks ahead of time for anyone that helps. |

| I Am The Admin | You need to cut it, and create a field strip slot to remove the hammer.... Nelspot project: Cached repost I'll see if I can't update it with the pictures... Let me look for them. CB

| if you have a steel barrel they are welded in. The set screws simply hold on the shroud over the tip of the barrel. There is usualy 2 or 3 tack welds that you'd need to drill out to remove the barrel, unless you plan to change out the steel barrel entirely i dont recomend doing this. |

| nelson fanboy | Wait, what? Original 007s didn't have the sear slot all the way through the rear of the body? Didn't know that gem of info.... This explains why Side-Swipe couldn't figure how to get the hammer off his signature nelsons....being that they didn't have the fieldstrip slot into them?

| Oh god, don't clip the Signature nelsons. Most 007s have little to no "mint" value as they have been used and abused. The only reason you should need to clip your 007 is if its a player's gun and needs routine maintenance. |

| Ok I'm confused...how did they get the hammer installed in the first place then? Something welded on after it was installed? That violates Mayvik's Rule #1: What has been assembled can always be unassembled and then reassembled.

| assembling the hammer is easy .. you need the right drift and a soft touch . you pin the sear in while the hammer is in the tube just dont forget the sear spring .. the sear keeps the hammer from rotating .. maybe I'll do a video for the uninitiated ..
